About the work

Ready to wear is jewelry that is available year round wether in stock or made to order.

One of a kind is jewelry or sculpture are more intricate explorations that are unique and cannot be duplicated exactly the same way.

I am always happy to revisit a one of a kind piece that has been sold and make a similar piece for you. It will not be an exact copy but will have the same spirit as the source piece.

Powder coating is a process by which color is applied to the piece in powder form, bonded with an electro static current and placed in a kiln to be cured. The result is a very durable surface which will last a very long time when treated properly.

Plasti-dip is a rubber plastic coating that I apply to some of my pieces. It is often a duller, thicker surface than the powder coated items.

Care instructions

Although the color layer (powder coating) is very durable, avoid bending or piling jewelry on top of each other in a jewelry box to prevent color layer from chipping.

Store earrings one each in the baggies provided.

Store necklaces flat, doubled or hanging with clasps closed.

Clean sterling and gold elements in your powder coated piece with a jewelry dip and immediately rinse in cool water and dry thoroughly. Store in separate jewelry baggies.

Oxidized sterling (darker, grey finish) will age and patina beautifully when worn. Please do not put oxidized sterling in jewelry cleaning dip.

If your piece has steel, please see instruction below.

If your piece contains steel, do not use a jewelry cleaning dip or cloth and avoid getting the piece wet. I coat steel surfaces so the piece can be worn as jewelry. If your piece has steel, please contact me about cleaning. I apply a finish over the steel to maintain the surface. Under some circumstances this wax surface may break down. I am happy to discuss storing or re-finishing of your steel pieces.

Clean sterling and gold elements with a jewelry dip and immediately rinse in cool water and dry thoroughly. Store in separate jewelry baggies.

Oxidized sterling (darker, grey finish) will age and patina beautifully when worn. Please do not put oxidized sterling in jewelry cleaning dip. I am happy to refinish your oxidized pieces if necessary.

My Studio Practice

I am a small independent studio — some might call me a micro-business. I design and hand-fabricate all of the work shown on my website. On occassion, I do employ others to help with parts of the production process and shipping.

My studio is not open to the public. Contact me if you have any questions.

Sometimes completing pieces expediciously requires some out of the studio assistance.

For a specialty like powder coating and casting, I work with a US based small business.
