One Day Workshop

Join me to create a spinner ring in this immersive one day workshop. You will learn foundational metalsmithing techniques to craft a wide base ring featuring one or more inner bands that spin freely.

In this workshop you will learn a number of skills to include how to properly size your ring, add texture, saw, solder, and finish your ring.

Students will also have the option to add a small bezel set stone to their spinning bands.

- No prior experience needed, beginners welcome

In this hands-on, one-day workshop, we’ll explore the magic of transforming flat metal into finished, wearable jewelry.

This workshop is all about creativity, exploration, and building confidence with tools in a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether you prefer simple, modern shapes or layered, textured designs, you’ll leave with several finished pieces and the skills to keep creating at home.

- No prior metalsmithing experience required—just come ready to play.

This class is designed for the beginning student. This is a fast paced, comprehensive, 8 week class. Class will start with the basics of sawing, piercing, filing and sanding. We will explore surface embellishment through stamping, roll printing, hammer texture, and more. Class will cover cold connections such as rivets and jump rings. Finally, we will dive into soldering. Students will learn how the soldering process works and will create a hand made bezel and learn how to set their stone. The skills that students learned earlier in the class will allow them to choose how to showcase their bezel set stone. We will explore rings, pendants, earrings and more!

This is a mixed level class that is designed for the student who has completed at least one beginning level class with Donna. Students should have a basic understanding of silver soldering. During this 8 week session, we will focus on stone setting. Examples of what will be covered include tube setting, flush setting and simple prong setting. Class will explore how to incorporate these settings into a finished piece of jewelry. Students will also learn how to make hand-made chains.

Learn the art of jewelry making in a relaxed and encouraging environment with a focus on building skills. Through project-based instruction, you will learn foundational jewelry fabrication and metalsmithing techniques by making bracelets, pendants, necklaces and rings.  You will learn traditional soldering with an acetylene/air torch, piercing, sanding, filing, finishing, forming, forging, texturing, riveting and bezel stone setting while completing 2 to 3 pieces per 8 week session. Projects and techniques will rotate every 3 class sessions and will always include bezel settings for cabochons.

This class is designed for the student who has had at least one beginning class with Donna. During this 8 week session we will build upon the skills learned in previous classes. Class will focus on various techniques to include stone setting and additional fabricating techniques. This is a mixed level class. Students will have the opportunity to be inspired by and learn from those with more experience in class.

Students will be encouraged to create their own designs.

This class is designed for the student who has had 3 or more classes with Donna. During this 8 week session we will focus on a variety of techniques. Techniques will include a continued exploration of hollow forms and different types of connections and stone settings.

Students will be encouraged to create their own designs.

Open Studio hours will be on Tuesday & Wednesday in May. There is a one time fee which allows students to attend open studio as much as they would like during the month. 

For June, there will be two sessions of open studio per week.
